ALLEN STONE - Radius - Capitol
On his third full-length album, singer/songwriter Allen Stone proves himself deeply devoted to making uncompromisingly soulful music that transcends all pop convention. Stone's debut for Capitol Records, Radius marks the follow-up to the Chewelah, Washington-bred 28-year-old s self-released and self-titled sophomore effort, a 2011 album that climbed to the top 10 on Billboard s Heatseekers chart and gained acclaim from renowned rock critic Ann Powers (whose NPR review hailed Allen Stone as meant for those of us who like our R&B slightly unkempt and exceedingly feelingful). Made in collaboration with Swedish soul singer/songwriter/phenom Magnus Tingsek, Stone s latest batch of songs capture the warm energy of that creative connection and transport the listener to a higher and more exalted plane.
A$AP ROCKY - A.L.L.A. At.Long.Last.A$AP - RCA
Aptly titled, A.L.L.A. At.Long.Last.A$AP is the long-awaited second studio album from A$AP Mob member A$AP Rocky, landing two years after his debut effort and filling the gap as his crew's promised L.O.R.D. album remains unreleased. Previewed by the single "Pretty Flacko 2" plus the Juicy J feature "Multiply," the album is executive produced by Danger Mouse along with Juicy, and features beats from the likes of Nez, Rio, Curtis Heron, A$AP Yams, Clams Casino, and Rocky himself. Guest vocals come from the likes of FKA twigs, Lykke Li, plus Mos Def, who leaves that former stage name behind with one of his first credits as Yasiin Bey.
LIFEHOUSE - Out Of The Wasteland - Ironworks Music
For Lifehouse, Out Of The Wasteland is a culmination of their life’s work, a new chapter that serves as the pay-off for having the patience to reconnect with the musical and personal chemistry that took them to the top. “We were at crossroads, and it definitely could have gone a different way,” says Jason Wade. “Going through changes and restarting a brand new season in your life and your career can be scary. But I think everybody is really happy that right now, our hearts are in the right place creatively.”
THE VACCINES - English Graffiti - Sony
The Vaccines 'English Graffiti,' is their first release in three years. The album was recorded in upstate New York, and the 11-song collection is the UK foursome's most accomplished work to date. 'English Graffiti' was produced David Fridmann (Flaming Lips, Tame Impala, MGMT) and Cole MGN (Ariel Pink, Beck).
TURBOWOLF - Two Hands - Spinefarm
Welcome to 2015: the year of the wolf.
Since their formation in 2008, the Bristolian riff-ragers have melted minds with their signature brand of patchouli-drenched punk rock fury. Their live rituals are the stuff of legend: a trapdoor into the cosmic beyond via the uncharted depths of your mind, sound-tracked by the red hot fuzz of crackling speakers and overloaded channels. After wrapping up a hugely successful last year, which included headlining Live Nation’s ‘Download Freezes Over’ tour as well as crushing stages with chart-toppers Royal Blood, the quartet are set to unleash second album ‘Two Hands’ and excitement in the camp is infectious… “We were doing it kinda ghetto before this point,” laughs guitarist Andy Ghosh. “We did the exact same thing in terms of recording and writing, but this time we’re a bit older and wiser. It’s just me and Chris making up weird shit! But this time round, we had the opportunity to produce it with Tom Dalgety [Band Of Skulls, Opeth, Royal Blood], who’s an absolute legend, and just really capture it. We have a hard sound to record: everything’s the same frequency just piled on top of each other. White noise, no… brown noise!”
EILEN JEWELL - Sundown Over Ghost Town - Signature Sounds
Honesty, confidence, and respect permeate Eilen Jewell's music, dating back to her self-released Boundary County album in 2006. Since then, the Boise native has recorded five studio albums for Signature Sounds with her road-tested touring band, and two more as a member of the Boston-based gospel-charged Sacred Shakers, which includes that well-oiled band at its core. As hard as it is to categorize Jewell's music terms like alt-country, roots-rock, country-noir, and Americana get used a lot it's even harder not to become thoroughly enraptured by the singer/songwriter's powerful versatility, musical stories, and images. And that gorgeous voice makes you feel like she's singing just for you, out on the breezy back porch or by a crackling campfire. She does so much, so well. Sundown Over Ghost Town's twelve original songs reflect on recent changes in Jewell's life including the birth of her first child and returning to her hometown of Boise, Idaho. The music has a western feel evoking wide open spaces with the generous use of pedal steel and organ.
ANTI-FLAG - American Spring - Spinefarm
Pittsburgh-based punk stalwarts Anti-Flag have always had important, socially conscious messages to convey & musical statements they've been driven to make. That ethos remains intact with American Spring, their Spinefarm Records debut. American Spring packaging includes essays, personal liner notes, & further information behind the driving forces of each song, detailing ways for us all to take action against injustice in the world. The American Spring is now!
KID WAVE - Wonderlust - PIAS America
Hailing from the UK, Sweden and Australia, and based in London, the foursome channel '90s American indie gods, injecting pop panache and slacker-rock fuzz into the fray to sidle alongside the likes of Gengahr and Wolf Alice. Dan Austin (Doves, Cherry Ghost) produced the record with them at the Eve Studio in Stockport.
JEDI MIND TRICKS - The Thief & The Fallen - Enemy Soil
After a six year hiatus, the original Jedi Mind Tricks frontman, Vinnie Paz, and producer, Stoupe, have reunited to record the group's eight studio album, ''The Thief & The Fallen.'' Forged in the indie rap Golden Era of the mid-90s, Jedi Mind Tricks' consistency has been unparalleled. For two decades, the name Jedi Mind Tricks has become synonymous with raw, gritty underground hip hop. From their debut album, ''The Psycho-social,'' in 1996 to their seminal sophomore release, ''Violent By Design,'' to their musical expansion on ''Servants and Heaven, Kings In Hell,'' JMT has made an indelible impression on the independent music scene, while arguably forming its own subgenre of rap.
HOLYCHILD - The Shape Of Brat Pop To Come - Glassnote
Los Angeles brat-pop band, HOLYCHILD debut full-length album, The Shape Of Brat Pop To Come, is out June 2nd via Glassnote Records. Their debut album features single, Running Behind.
HOLYCHILD is comprised of Liz Nistico and Louie Diller. They met in college in 2011, have been writing music ever since and call their genre, brat pop. On their debut album The Shape Of Brat Pop to Come, HOLYCHILD takes on nothing less than the idea of power dynamics and inequality be it racial, social status, or gender-motivated. The beats are wild (thanks in no small part to Diller's stint in Cuba studying Afro-Cuban drumming), and the tongues are placed firmly in cheek. Nistico assures that while their message is clear, it's not definitive. After all, we're all humans, right? At the end of the day HOLYCHILD is about posing questions not providing answers.
PARADISE LOST - The Plague Within - Century Media
It is rare for a band to have such a long lasting effect on the musical landscape they exist within. Since their formation in Halifax, West Yorkshire, Paradise Lost have thrived in perpetual darkness; a place where rays of light seldom threaten to break the black clouds, where nightmares last an eternity. And while the course of their sonic evolution has spawned countless others sworn to the dark, ALL pale in comparison to the original gothic metal pioneers. Returning with opus number fourteen, Paradise Lost are once again refining the chemical equation to their sonic alchemy, with the kind of creative invincibility few can afford. It’s a collection of songs that will surprise even the most seasoned of fans in its ambition: a monochrome miasma of morbidly uplifting anthems and heart-aching melancholia.

BRANDON FLOWERS - The Desired Effect - Island
Almost five years since the release of his critically acclaimed solo debut, Flamingo, Brandon Flowers' solo return follows a time of continued huge success with his band The Killers, who released the global chart-topping album Battle Born in 2012, as well as the greatest hits collection Direct Hits in 2013, selling out the likes of Wembley Stadium and Madison Square Garden while continuing to headline major festivals around the world.

Already receiving widespread notice, the acclaimed duo recently made their network television debut on the 'Late Show with David Letterman' performing the records first single, 'Silent Movies.' HOT CHIP - Why Make Sense? - Domino
With Why Make Sense?, Hot Chip restate their intentions as a band and redefine the very things that made them relevant in the first place. It shuns modernist dancefloor tropes in order to flick through the dusty corners of the band’s teenage record collections. Alternately jarring and chaotic, pared back, thundering, then pulsating and gloriously mellifluous, the album confidently displays its influences.
TESSERACT - Odyssey / Scala - Century Media
TesseracT officially burst on the scene in 2011 with their debut album, One. Touring with the likes of Devin Townsend, Protest the Hero and Between the Buried and Me helped make them one of the most successful breakthrough acts in the progressive metal genre. 2013’s Altered State was nominated for the Progressive Music Award’s ‘Album of the Year.’

The threads of our past never unravel, they hover like invisible webs, occasionally glistening due to a sly angle of the sun. On Multi-Love, Unknown Mortal Orchestra frontman and multi-instrumentalist Ruban Nielson reflects on relationships: airy, humid longing, loss, the geometry of desire that occurs when three people align. Where Nielson addressed the pain of being alone on II, Multi-Love takes on the complications of being together. Multi-Love adds dimensions to the band's already kaleidoscopic approach, with Nielson exploring a newfound appreciation for synthesizers. The new songs channel the spirit of psych innovators without ignoring the last 40 years of music, forming a flowing, cohesive whole that reflects restless creativity.$18.98 $16.98
Rachel Grimes is a pianist, composer, and arranger based in Kentucky – most renowned for her work in Rachel's, the groundbreaking chamber-rock ensemble that introduced an entire generation of underground rock fans to the unexpected similarities and appeal of neoclassical music. Grimes has toured the world as a solo pianist, and as a collaborator with chamber ensembles such as Portland Cello Project, astrïd, Cicada, the Amsterdam Sinfonietta trio, and Orchestra Kandinskij. Unhurried, at times fleeting, and stretching into the sky, The Clearing is a winding path of transient moments exploring personal memory, relationships, and mystery from a deeply internal place. The music is a wide spectrum of textures in strings, harp, piano, woodwinds, and percussion. Featuring an ensemble that includes Scott Morgan (LOSCIL), Scott Moore, Kyle Crabtree (Shipping News), Amsterdam Sinfonietta, Jacob Duncan (Liberation Prophecy), and Helen Money, The Clearing reveals a broad new chapter for Rachel Grimes.$15.98 $13.98
2015 album from the San Francisco-based garage rockers. Here we have nine muscular tunes primed to pummel. Last year's Drop was more schizophrenic, ranging from heavy to whimsical and back; Mutilator Defeated At Last has more in common with the monolithic hugeness of Floating Coffin. With only two brief reprieves from its onslaught, this record is made to be played loudly and demands bodily sacrifice. Despite the plutonium heavy feel, Thee Oh Sees continue to be omnivorous. Synths and acoustic guitars wind throughout the album like veins of gold through granite. Any and all that stands in its way will be devoured and assimilated. This is the sound of a band doing what they do best.$17.98 $15.98
Originally released in 2010 as a DVD/ Blu Ray, Anesthetize captures Porcupine Tree at the peak of their powers at the 013 Tilburg, Holland in October 2008. To put it simply, John Anderson is one of the greatest country music singers to ever step up to the microphone, possessing one of the most instantly recognizable vocal instruments in the history of the genre. On Anderson s latest album Goldmine, released on his own Bayou Boys label, Anderson has completed a long overdue record of original songs the award-winning songwriter wrote or co-wrote 12 of the album s 13 tracks that will bring joy to the hearts of some of the most devoted fans in country music. Goldmine is also a record that, given the current state of contemporary country, could, like latter day releases by Cash and Haggard before him, find a home amid lovers of authentic music of any genre. Though he would never compare himself to his heroes, the fact is, John Anderson is now the standard bearer for traditional country music, of the 100 Proof variety.$19.98 $17.98
When Snarky Puppy won a Grammy in January of 2014, the question I was asked most was, Was this on your bucket list of things to do before you die? And my answer to each of them was, actually, no. I have only one thing on my list. The only thing I want to do before I die is make an album with an orchestra. It had been a topic of discussion for three months at that time. During the October 2013 recording sessions for We Like It Here in Utrecht, our good friend Friederike Darius had invited two of the Metropole Orkest s managers to join us as guests. Within ten minutes of the performance s end, we had already crafted a plan to make a record together. Sometimes life is that easy. Not always, not most of time, but every once in a while, it is.
Marc Copland: piano; Gary Peacock: double bass; Joey Baron: drums In the realm of the piano trio the bar is set high, and creative bassist Gary Peacock has helped raise it in the groups of Bill Evans, Paul Bley and Keith Jarrett. Now This is an album with the bassists current trio, recorded last summer in Oslo. Powerful new versions of some Peacock classics such as Moor, Vignette, Requiem and Gaya are interspersed with recent compositions.$13.98 $12.98
VARDAN, the busiest man in black metal, continues his dominance of the underground with 'Despicable Broken Hope'. Chronologically the 20th album in the one-man band's vast discography, VARDAN's latest 'Despicable Broken Hope' sees the selfsame main man take his melancholic black metal art down more melodic roads. Mind you, the 'melody' across 'Despicable Broken Hope' is of a most miserable hue, each wracked note ringing out in the night like the sound of dying soul. Set at a mostly mid-tempo gait, here VARDAN twists out the bittersweet beauty in each paean to pain, with those 'spaces between the notes' haunting the memory long after record's end. Face 'Despicable Broken Hope' and feel alive - and DEAD!$13.98 $12.98
Marc [Bolan] is one of the eternally precocious, fated to live outside the world of adults forever. (Rolling Stone on Electric Warrior, 1972) Children of the Revolution is a celebration of the youthful excess of rock n roll and a tribute to beloved glam icons of the 70s: Marc Bolan and T.Rex. Bringing together 17 up-and-coming indie rock bands from Nashville, Atlanta, and New York -- including Ttotals, Jawws, The Mumzees, Tipper Whore & more -- COTR captures the spirit of Bolan, while creating a sound seemingly unstuck from time somewhere between 1972 and 2015. A portion of the proceeds from each album sold go to benefit YEAH (Youth Empowerment through Arts and Humanities) supporting music education through programs like the Tennessee Teens Rock Camp and raising up a new generation of Children of the Revolution.$13.95 $12.95

Primarily a showcase for the gory special-effects artistry of Gianetto de Rossi, this revolting horror film stars Giovanni Lombardo Radice also known as "John Morghen" as a drug-dealer who comes to the Amazon jungle from New York looking for a cache of stolen emeralds. He joins some American college students and soon introduces them to his special lifestyle, raping a native girl, then beating a young Indio senseless before gouging out his eyeball with a knife. Naturally, the local cannibals don't take too well to this treatment, so they cut off Radice's penis with a machete, gouge out his eye, then scalp him and eat his brain.

The master of the political thriller, Costa-Gavras, became an instant phenomenon after the mammoth success of Z, and he quickly followed it with the perhaps even more riveting The Confession. Also starring Simone Signoret (Diabolique) and Gabriele Ferzetti (L’avventura), Costa-Gavras’s film is an unflinching depiction of a troubled historical period and the miasma of twentieth-century politics.$14.98 $12.98
