Badflower releases their debut album OK I’M SICK as the first signing on new joint venture Big Machine Records/John Varvatos Records. Since their emergence in 2014, the group has become one of L.A.’s most buzzedabout Rock bands, achieving a 2-week run at No. 1 on KROQ’s Locals Only Show with “Heroin.” The crushing realness of their latest single “Ghost” brought the band to the attention of iHeartRadio who spotlighted them as an On The Verge Artist.
As for the album, for L+M, Canterbury Girls refers to a real place they know, in Broad Ripple, IN - and for them, as Madeleine explains," it’s the first place of adolescent freedom, the first place of blossoming girlhood - and a place to imagine the future a girl wants,” But the opposite is also at play; when youthful dreams are lost and the kind of emotional baggage that women have to carry, more often than not, becomes their burden. Burdens of disgust, of pain, unwanted attention, and trauma - the double standard, the disappointments, the disrespect, the fury, the helplessness, and the resignation. Sharing the angst bundled baggage and taking refuge in sharing and realizing you aren’t alone… that’s when healing begins. It’s the story of many, and the story of Canterbury Girls everywhere.
Effluxion, the fifth full length recorded by Michael Benjamin Lerner as Telekinesis, is a back-to-basics album-not just in it's reaffirmation of the sound and style that made Lerner an indie wunderkind a decade ago at age 22, but in the way it was created. Using the same now-discontinued MacBook microphone he used to record his earliest tracks, he holed up in the basement of his West Seattle home and put the album together piece by piece over the past two years, playing every instrument. While previous albums had former Death Cab for Cutie guitarist Chris Walla-who discovered and championed Telekinesis' demos-and Spoon's Jim Eno serving as producers and sounding boards and sidemen and general voices of authority and experience, Lerner wanted to do this one entirely on his own.
"Distance Over Time" is Dream Theater's 14th studio album and debut for InsideOutMusic/Sony Music. The two-time GRAMMY® Award nominated progressive metal band have sold over 15 million records worldwide. For this record, the band approached things a little differently. For the first time, the members lived, wrote & recorded together at the secluded Yonderbarn studios in Monticello, NY over the course of four months. For "Distance Over time," the band wanted to return to their roots and produce a more organic record. Despite these changes, Dream Theater uphold their unique signature of combining metallic aggression and progressive scope, putting it in a frame of tighter, more concise song writing. "Distance Over Time" might deal with difficult topics, but it also reflects the spirit, joy and passion that Dream Theater put into making this album. "Distance Over Time" is available as Standard CD Jewel Case, Special Edition Digipak (incl. 1 bonus track), 180g Gatefold 2LP Edition (incl. 1 bonus track & an 8-page LP-booklet), Ltd. Edition Artbook (incl. 1 bonus track, 5.1 mix with video animations, instrumental mixes, high res files of the album, stems for "Untethered Angel", extended liner notes, additional artwork incl. photos from the writing session and additional video content), Deluxe Collector's Box Set (incl. lenticular cover card, Artbook, 180g 2 LP Gatefold Edition with exclusive artwork and an exclusive LP color, exclusive picture 7", 60 x 60 cm poster, 10 art cards, slipmat, patch, pin and a hand-numbered certificate of authenticity) and as a Digital Album (incl. 1 bonus track). This version is the Black Gatefold 2LP Edition.
When This Life Is Over, is And The Kids highly anticipated third album for Signature Sounds. Praised by NPR for 'striking vocals [that] rival the vibrato and boldness of Siouxsie Sioux...and music that's both fearless and entertaining,' And The Kids return with a bold continuation of their chunky indie rock meets blissful new wave sound, while finding inspiration in exploring the 'total freedom of mortality's fate.' Hannah Mohan writes, 'We took inspiration from our lyrics 'When this life is over/no more rules/ no more orders' and let that set the tone of the whole album. Mohan continues, 'We wanted to break the rules of what an album should be like. We included bedroom demos and didn't worry about how we might play these songs live which can be very restrictive. We let everything go so that we could be our most creative selves. Although the title and theme might appear dark, it's actually about the remarkable beautiful freedom of the afterlife.

Mazy Fly, the second full-length by the Bay Area artist SPELLLING, explores the tension between the thrill of exploring the unknown and the terror of imminent destruction. Chrystia Cabral spent the summer of 2018 in her Berkeley studio reflecting on the thresholds of human progress and longing for a new and better tomorrow. She was struck by the way the same technologies that have given humans the ability to achieve utopian dreams of discovery have also brought the world to the precipice of dystopic global devastation. Despite the darkness of this reality, Mazy Fly is defiantly optimistic. It is a celestial voyage into the unknown, piloted by Cabral. Mazy Fly musically traverses the spaces between languid, honey-soaked vocals and distant angelic whispers, from thumping 808 club beats to crunching tape loops, and from silky, smooth R&B to whirling organ sonatas. Cabral became enamored by the idea of flight as a harbinger of both progress and apocalypse, and that was expressed in the textures and compositional techniques she utilized. Swarms, flocks, flies, angels, spaceships, flying saucers - all are represented sonically by Cabral and her Juno-106 synthesizer.
Listed among the greatest albums of all time by numerous publications, Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music, Vol.1 became an instant classic when it was first released in 1962. Charles bent racial barriers in popular music, amid the height of the Civil Rights Movement, with his integration of soul and country music. The album spawned four chart-topping singles: “Born to Lose,” “Careless Love,” “You Don’t Know Me,” and “I Can’t Stop Loving You,” the latter (and the album itself) being RIAA-certified Gold in only one month.
Named for the year in his life when the bottom fell out following a long-term romantic partnership, Martin Frawley sequenced Undone at 31 chronologically to emphasize his journey. Those familiar with his time as co-leader of Melbourne's Twerps will take comfort in hearing his deceptively simple songwriting is still intact, but the big reveal here is how new instrumentation and influences seamlessly expand his playground. It might take several listens for one to realize Frawley is singing "Something About Me" over just violin, Moog, and a Graceland-esque bassline, or to appreciate the PB+J pairing of Fender Rhodes and lap steel on "Where the Heart Is," which serves as Undone at 31's twist ending. Frawley's album does not shy away from morbid musings and raw emotions that come with a breakup, and like Shoot Out the Lights or Sea Change, Undone at 31's tunefulness and exploration combined are what elevate the music above the melancholy subject matter.

Ever Since I Lost My Mind is the third album and Rounder Records debut for SUSTO, the creative musical persona of charismatic frontman Justin Osborne. The album is a resounding triumph: a mix of new partnerships and collaborations with old friends, all anchored by Osborne’s perceptive songs that explore connection, loss, and transience––and the pain and joy each brings. With their rock-rooted sound, SUSTO keeps listeners engaged by refusing to occupy an easily defined space. Produced by Ian Fitchuck (Kacey Musgraves, Ruston Kelly) and featuring key input from Osborne’s longtime creative sounding board Wolfgang Zimmerman, Ever Since I Lost My Mind defiantly experiments with synth embellishments, Latin heart, guileless folk, and more.
With their sophomore album, illusions, the Way Down Wanderers have fine-tuned their signature blend of heartfelt songwriting, lyrical harmonies, and dance floor drumbeats. Since forming the band in their hometown of Peoria, Illinois, Collin Krause and Austin Krause-Thompson have crafted unforgettable stories of love and loss. Vinyl mastering and lacquers were cut from the analog master tape and pressed on 180 gram black vinyl for highest sound quality.
Hello. I'm Robert Ellis, The Texas Piano Man. I wanted to take a moment to say a few words about this record and what you might expect from it. Texas Piano Man is a collection of songs specifically written for my piano driven Rock & Roll band from the great state of Texas. Myself and the guys bring these songs to you in the very spirit of Texas itself; loudly, confidently, over the top, larger than life, at times deadly serious and yet always with a wink and a smile. We invite you to come on in, stay a while, and when you leave take with you the spirit of these songs, the spirit of Texas, and the spirit of The Texas Piano Man himself. Adios!

Electronic pop quartet Ladytron return with the release of their first new album in seven years on Ladytron Music via !K7 Label Services. The eponymously titled Ladytron follows the release in 2018 of two enthusiastically received singles, The Island and The Animals. Distilling twenty years of experimentation into one propulsive album, Ladytron again push the boundaries of electronic pop in invigorating directions with thirteen songs that explore the disquiet of our times. Loaded with their trademark analogue synths propelled by relentless rhythm, Ladytron is a hypercharged album that radiates a visceral urgency. Their sixth album is the band's most definitive work to date, full of catchy hooks, rousing riffs, sweeping melodies, and thick textured harmonies. Helen Marnie says, 'For us, it's like getting together with an old friend. You've both changed, but still have that common ground. Familiarity crossed with excitement.' It's diverse and emotional,' Daniel Hunt adds. 'It's a lot heavier than our last album, Gravity the Seducer, which was an intentionally more sedate, ethereal record.' The album also features guest Iggor Cavalera (Sepultura/Mixhell/Soulwax) on drums.
On their latest album "On the Train Ride Home", The Paper Kites muse on late night longings both romantic and heartbreaking, but all filled with hope. On What It Is, the Houston, TX troubadour Hayes Carll is leaving the past behind. “I want to dig in so this life doesn’t just pass me by. The more engaged I am the more meaning it all has. I want that to be reflected in the work,” Carll says. The new album covers a broad range of topics both timely and constant; the desire to bridge the country’s political divide, the ups and downs of relationships, and the challenge to stay present in your life as it goes by. What It Is continues the artistic risk-taking initiated by 2016’s Lovers and Leavers; his voice is strong and assured, and his songwriting as truthful as ever.

Determined to create something new within the rock genre, SWMRS collaborated with envelope-pushing producer Rich Costey (MUSE, Death Cab for Cutie) for two months in the Spring of 2018 for an exercise in grand experimentation. Inspired in equal parts by The Breeders, Rage Against The Machine, and De La Soul, the sonic diversity of the album is indicative of a generation reared on streaming services. SWMRS make music the way they consume it, jumping easily from pop rock to breakbeat-infused rock to emo punk, and jangly power pop. "When we were writing these songs we were very conscious of our role in creating a space for people to escape from the nonstop negative media cycle," shared co-frontman Cole Becker on the album's lyrical content. "It's a strange time to be young; our generation knows the duality of feeling like an unstoppable force for change in one moment and a powerless wreck in the next. We wanted these songs to document that feeling that we've observed closely in ourselves and in the people we've shared our music with over the past three years."
All is the first album to be recorded at Tiersen’s new studio, venue and community centre, The Eskal Project, built in an abandoned discotheque on the island of Ushant, a small island positioned in the Celtic sea between Brittany and Cornwall, Tiersen’s home for the past 10 years. The album, mixed by Gareth Jones, continues the themes of environment and a connection to nature first explored on EUSA, incorporating recordings from outside of Brittany, such as the redwood forests of California as well as field recordings from Tempelhof airport in Berlin (on ‘Tempelhof’), and guest vocalists.

Over his first three albums, Homeshake’s Peter Sagar followed his own idiosyncratic vision, a journey that’s taken him from sturdy guitar-based indie-pop to a bleary-eyed take on lo-fi R&B. Now, with Helium, Sagar is putting down roots in aesthetic territory all his own.
It comes through not only in the gauziness of the production, but also in the vulnerability of the songs themselves. Everyone Sagar encounters here — including himself — seems to be a step removed from present reality, whether by technology (“Anything At All”), solitude (“Just Like My”), or sweet fantasy (“Like Mariah”). The record is stitched together by a series of instrumental interludes, synthesizer explorations whose haziness adds to the suspicion that this is all an uncanny dream.
Where his previous three records were recorded directly to one-inch tape in a local studio, Helium was recorded and mixed by Sagar alone in his apartment in Montreal in early 2018. Freed of the rigid editing process he’d endured before, he was able to lose himself in pursuit of tone and texture. A budding interest in ambient and experimental music pushed him to tinker with the micro-sounds that surround the songs here. It’s a far cry from the chorus-laden guitars of his earlier work. “Ever since I started introducing synthesizers into my music, I’ve gotten more interested in texture,” he says. “I’d hit a creative dead end [with guitars], so synths took over.” The warm chords of a Roland Juno 60 form the album’s base, and gave him a clean palette with which to work. “No tape hiss, no humming power outlets and shitty mixing boards,” as he puts it. “Everything just came out nice and pure.”

Rodrigo y Gabriela are ready to embark on the next chapter of their remarkable story, with the release of their first studio album in 5 years. The new album, Mettavolution, will be released April 26 via ATO Records.
Three years in the making, Mettavolution brings together Rod and Gab's passionate interest in Buddhism, the history of human evolution and the liberation of the potential we have as a species; all expressed through the medium of two acoustic guitars. Conceived and composed in their studio in Ixtapa on the Mexican Pacific Coast, then road-tested in South America and the USA in 2017, a long list of new material has been distilled down to six new Rodrigo y Gabriela compositions and one audacious, jaw-dropping cover song.
Recorded in Los Angeles, producer Dave Sardy, -- best-known for his work with Oasis, LCD Soundsystem, A Perfect Circle and Band of Horses -- has helped Rod and Gab to a new recording career pinnacle.
“On Monday 15th January this year Dolores O’Riordan died in London. Two days later she was due to come into BMG and play us the song demos for a new Cranberries album. At this point none of us believed there would be another studio album from the band.
A couple of months later the remaining band members (Noel, Fergal & Mike) listened through to the vocals with producer Stephen Street and with the full support of Dolores’s family the decision was taken to take the vocal tracks and for the band to complete the recording of the album. This was a direct reaction to the strength of the material Dolores had left as her legacy.
The end result is a euphoric alternative rock albumon a par with the band’s best work, and together with the striking album artwork (by original band photographer Andy Earl and original sleeve designer Cally Calloman), celebrates vitality and optimism albeit tinged with tremendous poignancy.”
Double LP on green vinyl in same packaging as standard version & a bonus 7-inch with two non-album songs (on black vinyl). Includes coupon for full download. Indie Only. Limited Edition
The Mountain Goats are John Darnielle, Peter Hughes, Jon Wurster, and Matt Douglas. They have been making music together as a quartet for several years. Three of them live in North Carolina and one has moved back to Rochester. Their songs often seek out dark lairs within which terrible monsters dwell, but their mission is to retrieve the treasure from the dark lair & persuade the terrible monsters inside to seek out the path of redemption. As Axl Rose once memorably asked, in the song “Terrible Monster”: “what’s so terrible about monsters, anyway?” This is the question The Mountain Goats have been doggedly pursuing since 1991. They will never leave off this quest until every option has been exhausted. Thank you.

Kelly Finnigan's debut solo album for Colemine Records represents the culmination of his 15 years of experience - in the studio as a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, engineer, producer - and touring the US and Europe as a singer, musician, and band-leader. The content within reflects his dedication to expression through the rich American music traditions of soul, gospel, doo-wop, and R&B. The subject is love. It's ecstasies and heartaches. Love sought, found, betrayed, lost, and rediscovered. The result is a marvelous collection of songs and performances that run the gamut from whispering tenderness to roaring appeals; from lean and mean to lush and lovely. And always... always, manifestly honest, and undeniably soulful. With Finnigan guiding these songs from their conception all the way to the record pressing plant, the new release provides the singular voice missing from soul music: a visionary that writes, records, performs and produces his own material.

Produced by Shawn Everett (Kacey Musgraves, War On Drugs, Alabama Shakes), their 4th full length album proves to be their most diverse and mature set of tunes, from production through song writing.

Frankie and the Witch Fingers' fifth LP, ZAM, bleeds beyond borders and boundaries. Its opening preternatural sounds bubble up out of the primordial soup, spilling into our world, invading the inner recesses of the listener's mind. Like a two-headed snake wrapped around the skull, the album pendulates between winding instrumentals and dancey riffs that pop like supernovas out of the black void. Just when a song goes one way, it propels another through long stretches of a cosmic inferno. Bringing glimmers of krautrock and funk, its eleven tracks unleash a versatile and tenacious weight, slithering between the sexy, the aggressive, the vivacious, and the disorienting-until the living invasion is felt-ZAM-a supernatural entity summoned by four madmen obsessed with tearing open a gateway to dark space. After being pulled apart atom-by-atom, the listener is reconfigured on the other side, born unto starry wasteland. Where head is separated from body. Where music is seen and apocalyptic soundscapes flow to revelation. A funhouse undercurrent pulses through the album's epoch, reflecting a carnival mosaic shrewdly lulling and doggedly brutal. As one track bleeds into the next, that hour of running time becomes wormhole travel, until the listener returns earthbound, transmuted, craving more odyssey.

Killin' It - Live is the band's first live release, and one their legion of fans have been asking for. A soul-satisfying romp with blustery blues, gritty R&B and hard-charging roadhouse rock, the set list includes fan favorites from throughout Tommy's career.
Dee left college and began making trips to Tennessee, where he found another mentor in Dan Auerbach. Together, the two co-wrote a number of new songs, often teaming up with additional composers in town. Allison Krauss sings on four songs, lending her gossamer harmonies to album standouts like "Bucket of Bolts" and "Tell the World I Do." A world-class vocalist, she found a kindred spirit in the 19 year-old Dee, whose unforced vibrato and effortless tone floored her. During one recording session, she pointed to Dee in the vocal booth and announced, "From now on, you only sing with me." Not bad for a Nashville newcomer."It would be two of us," Dee remembers, "and Dan would rotate these other writers — all older guys who loved classic music — in and out of the writing room every day. Each write would be completely different, which is why each song on the album sounds so unique."Eventually, they whittled down the list of songs to two-dozen finalists. They then recorded all twenty-four songs in two weeks, using Auerbach's studio — Easy Eye Sound, a playground of vintage gear and analog equipment — as their home base. TITLE HERE features ten of those tunes, along with guest appearances by a number of titans from the folk, country, and bluegrass worlds. The guest list doesn't stop there. Fellow Nashville newcomer Ashley McBryde duets with Dee on "Road That Goes Both Ways," their voices backed by sweeping strings and steel guitar. Auerbach himself plays guitar throughout the album, while first-class sideman like Bobby Wood (keyboardist for Elvis Presley and Garth Brooks), Bubba Chrisman (drummer on Dusty Springfield's "Son of a Preacher Man"), and Billy Sanford (the man behind Roy Orbison's "Pretty Woman" guitar riff) all appear on multiple tracks. On an album filled with all-star musicians, however, it's Dee White who shines the brightest, filling Southern Gentleman with a mix of youthful energy, rich lyrical metaphors — particularly "Rose of Alabama," a cheating song dressed up as an achingly gorgeous ballad — and swooning melodies."We were just trying to write standards," says Dee.Stripped free of pitch correction and studio trickery, Southern Gentleman is an honest portrayal of a 19 year-old natural. Dee White's songs are classics-in-the-making, inspired by traditional sounds but happily rooted in the 21st century. This isn't a throwback record. Instead, it's a contemporary, ageless album — one that packs just as strong a punch today as it would've 50 years ago.

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard announce their first new music since 2017 when they managed to release 5 critically and commercially successful albums in one year. ‘Cyboogie’ is a step in a new direction for Gizz with 5 of the 7 members playing synth on the track and not a guitar in site. It’s an incredibly fun, upbeat disco boogie track reminiscent of Stevie wonder, devo, trans era Neil Young and everything that is good. Patty Griffin represents an extraordinary new chapter for this incomparable singer-songwriter and immediately stands among the most deeply personal recordings of her remarkable two-decade career. The album -- which follows 2015's GRAMMY Award-nominated Servant Of Love -- collects songs written during and in the aftermath of a profound personal crisis, several years in which she battled -- and ultimately defeated -- cancer just as a similar and equally insidious disease metastasized into the American body politic. Yet as always, like very few others, Griffin's power lies in how, as Holly Gleason in the Martha's Vineyard Gazette observed, ''her songs seem to freeze life and truth in amber.'' It's in how Griffin can express the strikingly intimate while never making it about herself, all wrapped in sparse arrangements that breathe an incomparable force and import into her songcraft.
Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost – Part 1 & 2, a pair of releases, separate but related, they share a title, themes and artwork. ‘Part 1’ will be released on March 8th, with ‘Part 2’ following in the Autumn. Profoundly tethered but possessing their own personalities, the two forthcoming albums capture the most compelling, ambitious and cohesive creations that Foals have ever produced. “They’re two halves of the same locket,” frontman Yannis Philippakis explains. “They can be listened to and appreciated individually, but fundamentally, they are companion pieces.” There are exploratory, progressive-tinged tracks which occasionally break the 10-minute mark alongside atmospheric segues which make the music an experience rather than a mere collection of songs. Yet the band’s renowned ability to wield relentless grooves with striking power also reaches new heights.
In October of 2018, ten years after the launch of their hit HBO series, musical comedians Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement returned to HBO for the all-new comedy special. Live in London was taped before a live audience at the Eventim Apollo and featured the Conchords performing songs from the sold-out UK and Ireland edition of “Flight of the Conchords Sing Flight of the Conchords Tour.” The duo also performed the song on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert in the fall of 2018. New Zealanders McKenzie and Clement debuted on HBO in 2005 in an edition of the comedy series “One-Night Stand,” returning to the network in 2007 for the debut season of their acclaimed, Emmy-nominated series “Flight of the Conchords,” which followed fictionalized versions of their lives in New York City. The duo also signed a worldwide deal with Sub Pop Records for their recorded music, going on to release the Grammy-winning EP, The Distant Future in 2007, followed by two full-length albums - their self-titled debut in 2008, and I Told You I Was Freaky in 2009. The Conchords have also enjoyed individual success. Clement’s film credits include the “Rio” movies, “Men in Black 3,” “What We Do in the Shadows” and “The BFG,” and he's also been seen in his role in FX’s “Legion.” McKenzie was the music supervisor for “The Muppets,” which won him an Academy Award® for Best Original Song for “Man or Muppet,” and “Muppets Most Wanted.”

Formed in Espoo, Finland in 1993, CHILDREN OF BODOM had an extraordinary start to their career. Their ‘90s take off was impressive, almost all of their albums have earned platinum or gold status in Finland and over the past twenty five years they‘ve become regulars on some of the world‘s biggest stages. 2019 beckons in a new era for a revitalized and bloodthirsty Hate Crew, who will present their 10th studio album “Hexed” on March 8th. It’s been three years since the release of “I Worship Chaos”. History tells us that having an extensive time frame to work on a project can often result in procrastination and loss of focus – but with “Hexed” the reverse has manifest in this 11 track, impressively stripped back melo-death, rock-n-roll-rampage. “Hexed” is a high-energy, up-tempo record seething with new life but also all of the Children of Bodom trademarks that millions of fans around the world have grown to appreciate. Their mix of melo-death meets blackened thrash with a neo-classical twist, and piercing keyboards peppered with the band’s venomous vocal bile, is what makes a Bodom spread so engaging. And it also explains why the Hate Crew continues to wow crowds across the globe, their reputation continues to grow as a fearsome live act with incredible technical proficiency.
David Gray announces details for the release of his new album, Gold In A Brass Age. This marks his 11th studio album which is set for release on March 8, 2019. Gold In A Brass Age was produced by Ben DeVries, son of producer and soundtrack composer Marius. The album finds Gray in renewed creative form and arrives just ahead of a run of headline shows in the US and UK. Gold In A Brass Age is defined by an intuitive approach from Gray, exploring new electronic textures and sound palettes, along with new production techniques in the process. David began writing Gold In A Brass Age in 2016 and it was recorded over several months between tours, including a 50 date US tour and a co-headline tour with Alison Krauss in 2017. Using a cut and paste approach to the arrangement of songs, the album's atmospheric and experimental undertones are evident throughout.
North Carolina-based ensemble Chatham County Line will return with their eighth studio album this spring titled Sharing The Covers. The album is, at its core, a tribute to those whom Chatham County Line hold dear, and a chance for the group to perform modern and traditional classics in the bluegrass-style they're known for best. On the 13-track collection, CCL takes the familiar and adds a touch of originality to create a wholly new and inventive roster of covers by Tom Petty, Alton Delmore, John Lennon, The Louvin Brothers, Beck, James Hunter, and more.
Ask Josh Todd about the inspiration behind Warpaint, Buckcherry’s eighth studio album--and indeed, the frontman’s goal in making music--and he’s got a ready response: “I want to connect with people, host the party, and give people a night they’re never going to forget,” Todd says. As he sings in Warpaint’s title track, “I wanna have fun blowing out your eardrums keep it rocking state to state.” The Los Angeles-based lineup has been doing exactly that since the 1999 release of their self-titled album. Hits including “Lit Up,” “For the Movies,” “Crazy Bitch” and “Sorry,” not to mention Grammy nominations, international touring and Platinum sales, have solidified Buckcherry’s rock ‘n’ roll bona fides. Warpaint, produced by Mike Plotnikoff (Halestorm, All That Remains), with a March 8, 2019 release date, adds to that impressive legacy, boasting the dynamics and immediacy of the band’s incendiary live show, coupled with Todd’s personal, no-holds-barred lyricism.

In their early years, Atlanta trio The Coathangers were very much of the classic punk ethos-the band was a live entity, and the records were a document of the charisma and chaos projected from stage. But after 12 years of relentlessly touring on a steady flow of EPs and LPs, The Coathangers finally took a moment to recalibrate before diving into the creation of their sixth studio album The Devil You Know. The band regrouped to make an album that captures all the vitality of their early years while honing their individual strengths into new communal achievements. It's a record that takes their established takes on vitriolic punk, playful house-party anthems, and heartworn ballads and melds them into a new sound that retains all their former live show glories while revealing a new level of songwriting and nuance. "The writing process was done with an open heart," says guitarist/vocalist Julia Kugel. "Everything that came before had to go away. And we started there, at ground zero." With each album, you could hear the individual songwriters honing their style. But with The Devil You Know, it feels like we're hearing the first Coathangers record written as a true unit.
Luluc released their debut album, Dear Hamlyn, in 2008; the songs were written following the death of Randell's father. Dear Hamlyn eventually gained a large group of influential admirers. Peter Blackstock co-founder of No Depression Magazine, wrote of the album, "The most beautiful album I've heard in ten years." In 2011, Nick Drake's producer, Joe Boyd, also taken by Dear Hamlyn, invited Luluc to feature in his Nick Drake tribute tour. They contributed the tracks "Things Behind the Sun" and "Fly" to the live tribute album, Way to Blue: The Songs of Nick Drake in 2013. This edition of the album is the first time it Dear Hamlyn has been available on vinyl.

Brian Fennell is a student of simplicity. As SYML (pronounced "simmel"), which translates to "simple" in Welsh, Fennell writes emotive songs that capture the ethos of his musical persona. Ultimately his songs are a kind and truthful depiction of emotion grounded by his gut-wrenching vocal delivery. This is SYML’s debut album.
Cut live to tape with very little overdubbing, Undress was recorded in the late summer of 2018 in Germantown, New York. Band members Ian Felice, James Felice, Will Lawrence (drums) and Jesske Hume (bass) teamed up with producer Jeremy Backofen to record their most personal and reflective album to date. 'Many of the songs on the new album are motivated by a shift from private to public concerns,' says songwriter Ian Felice. 'It isn't hard to find worthwhile things to write about these days, there are a lot of storms blooming on the horizon and a lot of chaos that permeates our lives. The hard part is finding simple and direct ways to address them.' Undress follows the band's 2016 album Life In The Dark, and finds the group in a very different place three years later. Between personnel changes, families growing and the political landscape, the result is a tighter, more-paired down release. 'Every song is a story,' said James Felice. 'On this album everything was a bit more thoughtful, including the arrangements, the sonic quality and the harmonies.'

The album was mixed by Grammy-winning engineer Gary Paczosa (Sarah Jarosz, Parker Millsap, Gillian Welch).
Bad Religion began in the sprawling suburbs surrounding Los Angeles, with the teenage punks offering an impassioned counterpoint to a culture of consumerism and anti-intellectualism. Founding members Greg Graffin, Brett Gurewitz, and Jay Bentley were eventually joined by guitarists Brian Baker of Minor Threat, Mike Dimkich of The Cult, and drummer Jamie Miller of …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead. Bad Religion have been highly influential force in modern punk, producing beloved international hits like “Infected,” “21st Century (Digital Boy),” and “Sorrow,” and building a devoted worldwide following.
Bad Religion are set to release their new album Age of Unreason, which can be described as "a musical manifesto on the current political landscape.” In a world still brimming with rampant anti-intellectualism, inequality and oppression, the band’s signature brand of sonically charged humanist dissent seems as relevant as ever.
Judah & the Lion return with their third album, Pep Talks, following their widely successful Folk Hop n’ Roll and their breakout hit, “Take It All Back.” The album is a mature step for the band, and blends uplifting, powerful anthems with more contemplative and emotional tracks. Inclusivity is at the heart of Barrie, the Brooklyn five-piece made of Barrie Lindsay, Dominic Apa, Spurge Carter, Sabine Holler and Noah Prebish. And on their debut LP Happy To Be Here, their multidimensional take on classic pop sounds awake and present, like a group that's daydreaming but firmly there with one another. Barrie, the band, is primarily her project; on the record, which she co-produced with Jake Aron (Snail Mail, Solange, Grizzly Bear), Lindsay plays guitar, piano, synth and bass. But still, Barrie is distinctly not a solo project, and Happy To Be Here-out May 3, 2019 via Winspear-is very much a full band record. Happy To Be Here offers snapshots of the band coming together in the city, after having lived all over: Boston, Baltimore, upstate New York, London, São Paulo via Berlin. "The scaffolding of this album is moving to New York and finding these people that make up the band, " Barrie says. "We're very different, but we cover each other's gaps personally and creatively, and are eager to learn from each other."
